Starting Saturday 1st October: new exhibition of work by local artist Shelly Perkins
September 21, 2011 at 10:38 am | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a commentThe Autumn in Malvern Festival is coming up, and as part of the programme we are welcoming Shelly Perkins back to iapetus with her brand new exhibition, New Views of Malvern, which runs from Saturday 1st to Saturday 15 October.
Shelly’s last exhibition with us was immensely popular, as visitors fell for her idiosyncratic depictions of Cotswolds, Herefordshire and Worcestershire towns in her original style that incorporates line illustration, digital graphic design and a unique interpretation of texture, light and shadow.
Now Shelly is returning with brand new work, focusing on the Malvern area. We have already seen some of the pieces and it’s fair to say we are pretty excited. Here is a sneaky peek at one of her brand new works; looking from Brays to the British Camp…call into the gallery from 1st October to see this and the rest of the collection.

House Beautiful magazine has picked out the lovely Coriander Storage Jar by Rachel Barker at iapetus as one of their ’3 of the best’ this month.
It’s a fab design that sits beautifully with the other items in Rachel’s range or mixed and matched with other kitchenware, and its subtle tones mean it goes with just about every kitchen colour scheme!
Our visit to lovely designer, Fi Mehra!
September 9, 2011 at 11:02 am | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a commentOn our way back from visiting family on the south coast a couple of weeks ago we dropped in to see Fi Mehra, she of the gorgeous silver and gold jewellery designs we sell here at iapetus. Taking full advantage of a few days off, we saw Stonehenge (a first for Chris!) and then trundled a few miles over to Fi’s house where we were warmly welcomed with a lunch in her beautiful garden and met her husband and little dog too.
Fi’s house is chock-full of beautiful things, and she showed us pieces from her favourite artists gathered over the years, (including some that came from our own gallery!). At the bottom of the garden is the studio, and we were treated to a sneaky view of Fi’s workspace, that magical place where the artist’s alchemy bubbles away and produces all those wonderful necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets!
Even better fun was the chance to look at all of Fi’s lovely ranges, which we just don’t get time to do at the trade shows. We had a sneak preview of her new collections for September. And she was working on a brand new range of charms, which we are jolly excited about, since they are exclusive to us at iapetus and have since arrived with us just as beautiful as expected. The charms include boats, clouds, leaves, flowers, stars, suns, acorns, pearls, starbursts and hearts. They can be attached in any combination to bracelets and necklaces to create a unique and personal piece of jewellery, and can be added to over time. Take a look now to see the brand new charms!
